Summer Youth Employment/Intern Program
Ages: 15yrs-16yrs

Are you 16 and looking for a job?

Are you 15 and wanting to learn more about the world of work?

 The Y is looking for 16 year olds to work in a paid summer position and 15 year olds for a non-paid intern position.  15 year olds are guaranteed a paid placement the following summer.

Program runs 6-8 weeks beginning the week of July 9th

Participants will work 15 hours per week at job placements in   Jefferson County and attend 2 hr Friday learning sessions at the Fairgrounds Y.

Benefits include—work experience, on site work counselor visits, weekly life skills classes including topics such as budgeting, career exploration, education and training requirements, etc..

Youth Empowerment Program – YEP


This Free after-school for is for Wiley and Case Jr. High students. It runs right after-school until 5:00 transportation is provided home. YEP starts September 26 for our 7 & 8th graders and October 3 for Wiley Students.

Enrollment forms are available at each guidance office and our main office at the YMCA.

Our after-school program offers clubs- cooking with class, sparks, computer tech, art mania, dance, science and many more fun after-school activities. Snack is provided and enrichment time ( homework ) is set up each day for your child to get their assignments done.

This is a great fun after-school program that has a variety of clubs and will be involved with the community.

Babysitter Training Course
Length: 1 Day

The American Red Cross Babysitter Training Course is approximately 6 hours long. At the beginning of the course each participant will receive a Babysitter's Handbook.
The Babysitter Training Course is comprised of 6 lessons. Each lesson is covered in the Babysitter Handbook and must be completed to receive certification. These lessons are:
-Lesson 1: Getting Started
-Lesson 2: Leadership
-Lesson 3: Basic Care
-Lesson 4: Stop, Think Safety!
-Lesson 5: Safe Play
-Lesson 6: Basic 1st Aid
