Adult ceramics 2 is an intermediate ceramics course designed for students ready to refine their skills and explore more advanced forms and techniques with a strong focus on wheel throwing, alongside essential hand-building techniques.
Students will rotate between stations: half the class (4 students) will work on the pottery wheel while the other half (4 students) focuses on hand-building, then students will swap, ensuring everyone gains hands-on experience with both approaches.
Through guided projects and personal exploration, you’ll learn foundational wheel-throwing skills like centering, pulling walls, and shaping forms - while also building with techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction.
Projects may include functional pieces such as mugs and bowls, as well as decorative or sculptural work. You’ll also explore surface texture and glazing to finish your pieces.
All materials and kiln firings included.
